The following is a summary of the objectives that fall under each of them.<\/p>\n<h1>Characteristics of the Madrid Strategic Plan<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Axis One: A close, cohesive and liveable city<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objectives to be pursued in this first axis are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promoting cohesion and territorial rebalancing<\/li>\n<li>Regenerating and reclaiming urban space and heritage<\/li>\n<li>Establish urban ecology policies that improve the quality of life and sustainability of the city.<\/li>\n<li>Developing an efficient and sustainable mobility policy<\/li>\n<li>Developing strategies for urban action on Climate Change<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring a general interest approach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Axis Two: A people-centred, caring and inclusive city<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objectives to be pursued in this second strand of the <strong>Madrid Strategic Plan<\/strong> are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring social equity by recognising the diversity of Madrid's population<\/li>\n<li>Fighting poverty and social exclusion<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring access to decent housing<\/li>\n<li>Promoting an active and healthy city<\/li>\n<li>Provide an effective and coordinated response to emergency situations.<\/li>\n<li>To make Madrid a safe city in which to live, work and visit, where citizens feel integrated and are jointly responsible for maintaining safety.<\/li>\n<li>Promote Madrid as a city against violence, for peace and that fosters solidarity and international cooperation for development.<\/li>\n<li>Promote citizens' access to culture as a common good and as a space for production.<\/li>\n<li>Guarantee the right to equality between women and men in a city free of gender-based violence.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the integral development of children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Axis 3: A sustainable economy with quality jobs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this third axis of the <strong>Madrid Strategic Plan 2015-2019<\/strong>The following objectives can be distinguished:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing strategic lines for the change of economic model<\/li>\n<li>Promoting sectors geared towards sustainable economic development<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the social economy, self-employment and small businesses<\/li>\n<li>Promoting stable, decent and equitable employment<\/li>\n<li>Improving Madrid's position among major global cities<\/li>\n<li>Promoting innovation in the city of Madrid for development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pillar 4: Democratic, transparent and effective government<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finally, a breakdown of the objectives of the fourth axis of the <strong>Madrid Strategic Plan<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Including citizen participation in decision making<\/li>\n<li>Achieve financial autonomy and design sustainable and equitable resource management.<\/li>\n<li>Rational, fair and transparent management of local administration<\/li>\n<li>Mainstreaming gender in municipal policy and action<\/li>\n<li>To guarantee compliance with international and European Human Rights obligations, promoting a cross-cutting approach throughout the entire sphere of action of Madrid City Council.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Madrid Strategic Plan 2015-2019 is based on 4 main axes.
